At the Faculty of Organizational Studies “Eduka” in Belgrade, a guest lecture was held on March 9 by Ivana Mihajlović, Global Talent Development & Culture Director at Al Dahra, on the topic “Culture in Practice: Lessons from 20 Years of HR Experience.” The lecture was organized as part of the course “Corporate Culture.”

Psychology students, as well as students of the Business Excellence, Management and Organization program, had the opportunity to hear experiences and practical insights from one of the experienced HR leaders about how organizational culture is truly built and developed in modern companies.

During the lecture, Ivana Mihajlović shared numerous examples from her professional practice and highlighted the key principles behind a strong and sustainable corporate culture. Special emphasis was placed on the role of leaders in shaping everyday behavior within an organization, as well as on the importance of individual initiative in driving change.

Among the important lessons that students took away from this lecture were the ideas that cultural change often begins with an individual who sees opportunities where others see limitations, that culture is not what organizations talk about but what leaders model through their daily behavior, and that the enthusiasm of people who build culture can be a powerful driver of change — but that it can sometimes be misdirected.

The guest lecture by Ivana Mihajlović provided students with valuable insight into the real challenges of managing organizational culture and further enriched the course by connecting theoretical knowledge with contemporary business practice.
