The Faculty of Organizational Studies “Eduka” visited the “Land of the Living” community today, opening opportunities for cooperation through student internships and direct work with people undergoing recovery from addiction.

On behalf of the Faculty of Organizational Studies “Eduka”, the community was visited by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dragana Mitrić-Aćimović, who spoke with the founder of the “Land of the Living”, Father Branko Ćurčin, about opportunities to connect academic knowledge with first-hand practical experience.

The visit was also attended by Dr. Danilo Mihajlović, Doctor of Theology and psychotherapist, who collaborates with the “Land of the Living” community.

The “Land of the Living” is a community dedicated to the rehabilitation, recovery and social reintegration of people struggling with addiction, based on the principles of community life, responsibility, mutual support and continuous work towards change.

During the meeting, it was agreed that a group of psychology students from the Faculty of Organizational Studies “Eduka” will undertake professional internships at the “Land of the Living” in the coming period. This will give students the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the community’s social reintegration programme, the specifics of group work, and various aspects of the psychologist’s role in the process of recovery and reintegration into society. A particularly meaningful part of the visit was the meeting with more than 20 residents of the community, who shared their personal stories, experiences and journeys through addiction and recovery.

Father Branko Ćurčin thanked the Faculty of Organizational Studies “Eduka” for the visit and its willingness to establish cooperation, emphasizing the importance of connecting educational institutions with the experiences and needs of people going through the rehabilitation process.

During the meeting, the residents of the “Land of the Living” were also briefly introduced, at the community’s initiative, to opportunities for continuing their education at the Faculty of Organizational Studies “Eduka”.

The cooperation between “Eduka” and the “Land of the Living” represents an important step towards providing psychology students with first-hand experience that will further develop their professional competencies and deepen their understanding of addiction, social reintegration and group dynamics.
